The Party's Over

Yes, Thanksgiving is over. Our house guests left this morning. And I am bone tired. My fridge smells like stinky seafood, (the juice from my brother's crab legs leaked out and I'm afraid I will have to take everything out and wipe down all surfaces to eliminate the stench, but not today.) Today I am going to rest. I'm beat. I'll try to pop in and visit all your blogs tonight, or perhaps tomorrow. Thank you for all the kind thoughts and wishes, I hope you all had a terrific holiday, (we sure did), and for my friends in other countries that don't celebrate Thanksgiving, well...you won't have to listen to us yank's yammering on and on for another year! lol.

Enjoy some down time - it can be exhausting - even when it's fun :)

I'm glad your Thanksgiving was so wonderful (except for the seafood aromatics aftermath).

Ours was splendid. Always a lot of work but worth it.

What a great painting you chose to accompany this post.

Great painting, Elizabeth! I kind of feel that way and I have no excuses (didn't host Thanksgiving...went to my mother's house!)

Friends and family for Thanksgiving is always a mixed blessing. Luckily, it falls mostly on the blessing side.

I love hearing all about the thanksgiving mayhem in the US. Makes me wish I was back there :)

Glad you had a good holiday. Enjoy the chance to breath!

Though we had no Thanksgiving feast, I'm with you on the resting part. Hectic weekend. Socialising beyond my current abilities.

Glad you had a lovely time, sorry about the crab juice- that's a headache.

Are you crazy???? Crab legs don't stink! Now maybe if you had them marinating in the garbage can for a week without taking the trash out, but in a refrigerator? I would stand with my nose poked in and breathe deep! I do love me some crab legs.

Glad you had a lovely holiday. Ours was fun too, but I am also way behind on my blog reading. Holidays do steal a lot of time away from our other priorities, don't they?

I love that painting!
Glad to hear you had an exhausting Thanksgiving, as that's how it should be. We had a great time too. Holidays are soo good.

Elizabeth,

Glad your Thanksgiving was enjoyable! Our fridge is a little stinky too as one of our Thanksgiving dishes was crab cakes (a Lowcountry treat:).

Blessings,

Kim

I hear ya on being tired after Thanksgiving. I slept for 12 hours on Thursday night! Glad you had a nice holiday, smelly crabs and all. That painting says it all!

Enjoy your relaxation time! Stainless steel is good for ridding of fish odor, they sell what looks like a bar of soap at Bed Bath & Beyond. Or lemon juice with baking soda is always a great back up :-)
